The SEJHL has named 3 Bolts players to the 2009-2010 All-Star Team. Chance Letson, Michael Napora and Taylor Cowieson will represent the Bolts in the SEJHL All-Star Game on January 31st in Walpole, MA. All three players have been an important part of the teams success this season! Congratulations to this players and Good Luck in Walpole!

Former Bolts Goalie Martijn Oosterwijk Wins Silver Medal
at World Junior U20 Championships for the Netherlands...
Former Bolts Goalie Martijn Oosterwijk wins a Silver Medal at the World Junior U20 Championships in Estonia. Martijn played in all 5 games for the Netherlands, with a record of 4 wins and 1 loss with an 89% save percentage. The Netherlands finished in second place! Congratulations Martijn!

Bolts Forward Chase Anderson Named MET South Player of the Week...
Bolts Forward Chase Anderson was named MET South Player of the Week for the second time this season. Chase had a 5 goal weekend against the Palm Beach Hawks this past weekend. 4 of his 5 goals came in Saturday's loss. Chase currently has 19 points in 16 games. Congratulations Chase!

Bolts Forward Zac Manning was named MET South Player of the Week after recording a point on all 4 Bolts goals on Sunday (2G 2A). Zac also had a goal on Saturday as well for a 5 point weekend. Congratulations Zac!
Bolts MET Team Ravaged by Hurricanes, SEJHL Team Splits with Hurricanes...
The Spacecoast Hurricanes blew into town on Sat night and dealt a blow to the Bolts MET Team by defeating them 8-2. The score reflects the difficulty that the Bolts had in getting any rhythm and control of the game! Sunday's game started out with significantly improved team effort and a 1-0 lead after the first. The 2nd period ended with a late period goal to keep the Bolts in the lead with a 2-1 score. The Bolts unraveled in the 3rd period and allowed 4 unanswered goals for a final score of 5-2 loss. It was a disappointing weekend for the Bolts MET Team but they will regroup and prepare to face the Palm Beach Hawks at the last home game until next year.
The Bolts SEJHL Team split the weekend against the Hurricanes losing on Saturday 7-4, and winning on Sunday 4-1.
Bolts MET Team splits weekend with Jacksonville...
The Bolts MET team faced top ranked Jacksonville this past weekend at home. Saturday night's game ended in a 5-2 loss for the Bolts. Sunday's game was an incredibly exciting re-match! The Bolts were down 5-2 at the start of the 3rd period. They came back to tie the game 6-6 and send it into overtime. They remained tied at the end of OT and went to a shootout. The Bolts came away with a hard fought win when Patrick Rodgers scored the game winning goal in the shootout! Great goaltending by Kevin Wierda during the game and OT and by Dan Snyder in the shootout! The Bolts gear up to face the Spacecoast Hurricanes this coming weekend at home.
Bolts SEJHL Team Beats Division Rival Florida Eels 1-0...
The SEJHL team played a great game on Thursday,
October 8th! The Bolts SEJHL team outshot the Florida Eels 48-28,
coming away with a 1-0 Victory. Bolts Goalie Zach Lary played outstanding in net as he recorded his second shutout of the season. Next up for the Bolts SEJHL team is to travel to Rockledge, FL to take on Space Coast on Saturday, October 10th.

For the second week in a row, a Tampa Bay Bolts player has been awarded
MET South Player of the Week. This week Bolts Forward Alex Spiros was awarded MET South Player of the Week after scoring a hat trick and an assist against the Florida Eels on September 26th. Congratulations Alex!
MET Team Splits with Florida Eels...
The Bolts faced off against the Florida Eels for their second series this past weekend. The first game was tied 1-1 and the end of the first and 2-2 at the end of the second.
The Bolts exploded in the third period to take a 5 goal lead and ended with a 7-4 victory!
Alex Spiros had a hat trick and an assist, and Patrick Rodgers and Chase Anderson contributed with 3 points each. Great victory by the Bolts!
Sunday's rematch was a much tighter game. The Bolts were behind after the first by 2 goals. They got on the board in the second period when Patrick Trizis got a beautiful breakaway goal! The period ended with a 3-1 score in favor of the Eels. The Bolts came back in the 3rd period with an unassisted goal by defenseman Crae Riese and the tying goal was scored by Patrick Rodgers. The Bolts were blindsighted at the end of the game when the Eels scored the go ahead goal with 1:26 left in the game. Unfortunately, the Bolts were not able to come back but it was a very exciting game!
Philadelphia MET Showcase Recap...
The Bolts MET team traveled to West Chester, Pa this past weekend to compete in the first MET Showcase of the season. They had a great showing with an overall record
of 2-1.
The first game against the East Coast Eagles ended in a 4-2 win. The team was able to control this game by having each player participate at his highest level. The second game of the showcase against the Jr. Flyers was an extremely challenging game! The Bolts came away with a 3-2 loss in an extremely competitive game mired with numerous penalties in the last half of the 2nd period. This game revealed the true heart of the team because each shift was played with the utmost effort by every player! The final game of the Showcase was against a league rival, Spacecoast Hurricanes. The Bolts continued their aggressive play and came away with a hard fought win with a 4-3 score. Chase Anderson scored a hat trick in this game which was a significant contribution in
this win!
The Bolts prepare to play the Florida Eels again this weekend at home. Join us in supporting the team in this very fierce rivalry!

Bolts Forward Trevor Wight Signs with Jr. Valley Warriors (EJHL)
Bolts Forward Trevor Wight has signed with the Jr. Valley Warriors in the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL). Wight was the leading goal scorer from the Bolts MET team last season. We wish him the best of success this upcoming season.

Bolts Defensemen Jacob Stitz headed to NCAA Fitchburg State
The Tampa Bay Bolts are proud to announce that defensemen Jacob Stitz has committed to play for NCAA Fitchburg State in the ECAC Northeast next season.
Stitz had 12 goals and 8 assists for the Tampa Bay Bolts in 2008-09, won Defensive Player of the Week and was known around the league for his pro style shot.
"He was a team player and got along with everyone. He was a great leader and he is a fantastic young man, he is going to do a great job for the Falcons," remarked GM Neal Nachman. Jacob had the hard decision of which college to play for, as Coach Canacari had arranged a tryout for 4 NCAA schools to scout Stitz. Jacob was offered contracts by 2 NCAA D3 schools.
Jacob Stitz will be missed next year and has become a big part of our family here in Tampa Bay.

Bolts Goaltender Oosterwijk drafted by Powassan Dragons (GMHL)
Tampa Bay Bolts netminder Martijn Oosterwijk was drafted by the Powassan Dragons of the Greater Metro Hockey League in Canada.
The 6'3" Netherland's Goalie played for the Tampa Bay Bolts and was a big part of the teams success last season.
Martijn also played for the Netherlands in January in the World Junior Championships in Spain, where he helped the Netherlands win a bronze medal.
"Martijn's play improved immensely during the season. He came into his own and is a big, strong hard working athlete. I am not surprised he is getting this great opportunity.
He has worked hard and deserves everything he gets for sure. He will go up to their camp and see what happens but we know he has a great chance and we support him all
the way," said Neal Nachman.
Oosterwijk was selected in the 8th round and is looking forward to heading to Powassan in August.
